How PowerPoint to PDF conversion works
OnlyFiles uses LibreOffice on a secure server to render your PPTX into a standards-compliant PDF. Each slide becomes a page, with fonts, colors, shapes, charts, and images preserved. The result is a PDF that looks identical to your original slides on any device — Mac, Windows, phone, or tablet. LibreOffice handles both modern .pptx and legacy .ppt formats.
What carries over and what doesn't
All visual elements transfer to the PDF: text, images, shapes, tables, charts, backgrounds, and slide layouts. Animations and slide transitions do not carry over because PDF is a static format — each slide is captured as a fixed page. Speaker notes are also not included in the PDF output. If your presentation uses custom fonts, LibreOffice substitutes the closest available match, which may cause minor spacing differences on text-heavy slides.
When to use this
- Share a presentation with someone who doesn't have PowerPoint
- Submit slides as a PDF for a class or conference
- Create a printable handout from your slide deck
Frequently asked questions
How do I convert PowerPoint to PDF?
Go to onlyfiles.org/convert/pptx-to-pdf and drop your .pptx file. Each slide becomes a page in the output PDF. Fonts and layout are preserved.
Will animations and transitions show in the PDF?
PDFs are static documents, so animations and transitions won't carry over. Each slide is captured as a static page with all visual elements intact.
Can I convert older .ppt files?
Yes. OnlyFiles supports both modern .pptx and legacy .ppt PowerPoint formats.
